Chose carefully who you want to trust

Cat showing belly demonstrating vulnerability in relationships and trust

Dear Human 💕,

I noticed it’s hard for you to trust other humans. I know you had some pretty bad experiences in your life. You trusted other humans to be honest and to keep their word. You trusted that you will be getting what has been promised to you. You trusted that those humans are on your side. And then the other humans lied or didn’t keep their word. Now, you’re reluctant to trust any other human.

I totally understand. You certainly can‘t trust all humans . . . or cats. I know that cats can be real assholes and humans can be too. You can’t count on others humans to be on your side.

I am very reluctant to trust any human that comes to the apartment. I was reluctant trusting you. I choose carefully, who I am going to trust. And, I choose carefully how far that trust goes. Trust needs to be built.

I keep an eye on what the humans do, how they treat others, and if they act like decent human beings.

At first I didn’t trust you at all. After a few days I knew I can trust you to feed me on time and that you won’t chase after me. I didn’t trust you enough to sit right next to you. I certainly didn’t trust you enough to show you my belly. I kept an eye on you and how you were with other humans. After a few weeks,I decided you’re a decent human. Remember, when I started to sit on the sofa with you? And after a few months I dared to show my belly. Now, I even let you touch it.

Relationship are built on trust. You need to trust the other human to open up and let them see the real you. You need to dare to show your belly.

No matter how carefully you choose, sometimes you choose wrong. That’s unfortunately a risk you have to take. That’s life.

I am taking the risk. I trust you with all of my lives.

Yours,
Cat 🐾

P.S. When it comes to business always make sure it’s going to be in writing. Internet, cell phone, your employer, health insurance and so on. They have their best interests in mind, not yours. Whatever you discuss on the phone or with any human directly, always follow up any agreement in writing. In the end trust doesn’t count. It only counts what’s in the contract.
