Don‘t believe everything you think

Dear Human 💕,
Humans think they are so smart, and yet some humans are so naive that they believe everything they think.
But brains don’t think as rational as humans like to believe. Brains are often driven by fear.
Your brain is constantly looking for threats to make sure you survive. So, it focuses on all the bad stuff. What’s the worst thing that can happen?
If I upset the human, they won’t like me anymore, they won’t feed me anymore, and I‘ll die.
You really can’t believe everything you think.
Cats know that and we think like scientists: We don’t take our thoughts as facts. We take them a hypothesis to be tested. We ask ourselves, is that true or not? We will look for evidence for and against it.
The human didn’t cuddle with me on the sofa this morning, so I think they must be upset with me.
Is that true? Are they really upset with me? Or could the human not spent time with me, as they overslept and had to hurry out the door to make it to work on time?
What’s the evidence? There’s no way they saw me on the kitchen counter tonight. They were sound asleep. And when they came home, I got a treat and cuddles. They wouldn’t do that, if they were upset. So, it wasn’t true that they were upset with me. They were just in a hurry.
So, don’t believe everything you think.
Yours,
Cat 🐾
