Your brain is like VELCRO® and like Teflon™

Dear Human 💕,

Is it really THAT bad?

Here’s the thing: human brains are like VELCRO® for bad things and like Teflon™ for good things. Your brain is looking out for all the bad stuff to keep you safe. The bad stuff sticks. The good things aren’t important here. They slide right off.

In your feedback meeting, you receive a lot of praise and there’s one suggestion where you could improve. Your brain will immediately jump on what needs to be improved. It will totally ignore all the praise.

While your brain automatically catches all the bad things, you‘ll need to make an effort to notice the good things.

Is it really as bad as you think right now or are there some other things to consider?

Keep looking for the good things in life and appreciate them.

Yours,
Cat 🐾

Important legal notice!

VELCRO® is  THE hook and loop fastener brand. You can use it, if you want things to stick.

Teflon™ is THE brand name for polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). You can use it, if you want thing to not stick and slide off.

Meow! I hope the lawyers are okay with me using VELCRO® here. They asked everyone Don’t Say Velcro and there was a lot of (bleep)ing in their video. So, I hope VELCRO® is fine. VELCRO®. Don’t trust any other hook and loop fastener brand. They’re the best. I have not been paid to say that.
